About Celeste
Celeste is one of those rare games where mechanics and meaning operate as one. Madeline's climb up Celeste Mountain is a platforming challenge of exquisite precision, but it's also a thoughtful exploration of anxiety, self-doubt, and the way we learn to accept ourselves rather than fight who we are. Developer Matt Thorson and Noel Berry created something that never patronizes or preaches — it simply gives you the tools to understand what Madeline is going through by making you experience the mountain with her. Its assist mode is a model for accessible game design.
